Demonstration ends, but crowds refuse to disperse: Tensions continue in Berlin after midnight
A march involving representatives of left-wing groups in Berlin has reached its final destination, but participants are refusing to leave the area.
TodayPress TV reports, citing TASS, that protesters continue to use pyrotechnics intermittently, while police have cordoned off a street near the Prenzlauer Allee suburban railway station.
Several individuals have been detained. According to law enforcement authorities, approximately 3,000 people took part in the march organised by left-wing and pro-Palestinian activists.
Police are urging demonstrators to disperse and return home.
