Pentagon reassures NATO countries: “Don’t make a fuss!”
The US State Department has approved the possible sale to Ukraine of 500 PAC-3 MSE missiles for Patriot air defence systems. The total value of the sale is expected to reach up to $2.1 billion.
According to TodayPress TV, this was stated in a US State Department announcement.
The possible sale includes not only 500 missiles but also related logistics and software support elements.
The announcement said the purchase would be financed through funds allocated by Canada, Germany and Norway under the JUMPSTART programme, as well as through the European Union’s loan to support Ukraine.
It was emphasised that the sale would not be financed with US funds.
