Finland and Norway have taken on a mediating role in peace negotiations aimed at resolving the war in Ukraine.

According to TodayPress TV, the information was reported by Bloomberg.

According to the publication, amid declining US support for Kyiv, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre are planning to establish an additional channel of diplomatic communication between Europe and Russia.

Stubb said they were acting in this process “100 percent in the interests of Ukraine”.

According to him, the main objective is to conduct behind-the-scenes diplomatic talks and create conditions for leading European countries to join the peace process at a later stage.
