Antonelli wants to remain humble even after winning the championship
Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the Italian newly crowned Formula 1 world champion, has answered a question about whether he plans to change his racing number after winning the title.
TodayPress TV reports that Antonelli said he would continue racing with number 12 during a press conference following the Mexican Grand Prix.
“I think I’ll keep number 12. It’s special to me. It also helps me stay humble. Number 12 will give me the opportunity to start everything over and improve even further.
“To be honest, I’m very superstitious. Number one has never seemed lucky to me. Whenever I’ve added it somewhere, things have always ended very badly.”
