Is Russia joining the Turkic world?
The Kremlin considers Russia’s participation in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) possible.
TodayPress TV reports that the Kremlin views it as appropriate for Russia to participate in the Organization of Turkic States, either as a member or as an observer.
The Russian side has justified the idea by pointing to several regions of the country that have historically been home to Turkic peoples.
The Kremlin stressed that participation in the OTS could be considered for the Russian Federation as a whole, rather than for individual Russian regions.
