If a new war breaks out, Iran could target Britain
Concerns are growing over a possible new military confrontation in the Middle East, with speculation that Iran’s retaliatory measures could extend beyond the region and target US military infrastructure in Europe. In this context, RAF Fairford airbase in the United Kingdom has been identified as a potential target.
TodayPress TV reports, citing the Current Report account on X, that Iran could target the RAF Fairford military airbase in the UK if a new war breaks out. This possibility comes amid the prospect of US strategic bombers once again using the base for operations against Iran.
RAF Fairford has previously hosted B-1B Lancer, B-52H Stratofortress and B-2A Spirit strategic bombers.
These aircraft were used in previous US airstrikes against Iran, and their redeployment to the region cannot be ruled out if military operations resume.
Iran has not previously attacked RAF Fairford. However, reports suggest that the current situation could be different.
Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff and Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei have reportedly instructed the military to respond immediately to any potential threat posed by an enemy, without geographical limitations.
Iran also possesses the Khorramshahr ballistic missile, including extended-range variants capable of striking targets thousands of kilometres away.
