US’s sensational “gift” to Iran: A return to the past begins – two countries face a blockade
“US President Donald Trump may decide in the coming days to launch a nuclear strike against Iran.”
TodayPress TV reports that prominent American journalist Tucker Carlson made the remarks.
Carlson said Trump could make such a decision under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“According to Israeli intelligence, Iran may resume uranium enrichment at Mount Pickaxe. No conventional weapon in the US arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is allegedly taking place. The only military option to destroy the site is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu is pushing hard for this. A final decision could be made on November 7. However, there are people around Trump who want to resolve the issue with Tehran through diplomatic means.
“Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. Following last week’s election results, he cannot form a government unless Trump directly intervenes in Israeli politics and helps him reach an agreement with other parties that would give him 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he could be removed as prime minister. That is why he is trying to stay close to Trump and calls him every day. The Israeli prime minister needs this war.”
According to the journalist, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe share Netanyahu’s position.
“On September 27, Netanyahu secretly flew to Abu Dhabi in an attempt to persuade the UAE to support a new attack on Iran. However, he was turned down. After eight months of conflict, the Gulf economy is being shaken. Global energy and fertiliser markets are also under pressure. In these circumstances, a global crisis is inevitable. The consequences of the surface explosion at Mount Pickaxe would contaminate the Persian Gulf and disrupt water supplies for 100 million people.
“No country other than the United States has used nuclear weapons in warfare, but some are considering doing so. A US nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would force them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be inclined to do the same against each other, while North Korea would do so against Seoul. A Third World War would be inevitable after the first nuclear strike, and it would be the last.”
