Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the Russian army suffered its heaviest personnel losses of the war in October.

According to TodayPress TV, he wrote this in a post on his Telegram channel.

According to Zelensky, the Russian army lost 54,400 troops killed or seriously wounded last month. This is the highest monthly figure recorded since Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

The Ukrainian leader also said that on October 21, the Russian army lost 2,250 troops in a single day, marking another record.

Zelensky noted that Ukraine’s Defence Forces liberated 96.2 square kilometres of territory in October. According to his claim, the territory captured by Russian forces during that period was 10.4 square kilometres less than the area liberated by Ukrainian forces.

The Ukrainian president stressed that Russia should agree to a ceasefire and choose diplomacy to prevent further heavy losses.

It should be noted that the figures cited are based on information provided by the Ukrainian president.
