Hikmat Hajiyev’s visit to Armenia shortly after the elections has been discussed in the Armenian parliament.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Armenia’s Hraparak newspaper, that the issue was raised during discussions.

According to the report, during preliminary discussions on the 2027 state budget, Kristine Vardanyan, an MP from the “Armenia” faction, asked Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan why Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, had visited Armenia just one week after the elections.

The MP linked the visit to the possibility of constitutional changes in Armenia and recalled that the government did not have a parliamentary majority.

In response, Ararat Mirzoyan said that reciprocal visits had taken place at various levels during that period. He cited exchanges involving civil society representatives, deputy prime ministers, expert groups and secretaries of security councils.
