Ilham Aliyev addresses summit participants
President Ilham Aliyev has addressed the participants of the international event titled “UN Summit on Governance Innovations: Developing Future-Ready Institutions”.
TodayPress TV reports that the address reads:
“Dear participants,
I welcome you to the international event on the theme ‘UN Summit on Governance Innovations: Developing Future-Ready Institutions’. Welcome to Azerbaijan!
Accessibility of public services, transparency and digitalisation are among the key conditions for sustainable development. As a result of consistent reforms to improve public administration in Azerbaijan, the ASAN Service system was established in 2012 to ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative and integrated public services.
Having paved the way for a qualitatively new stage in relations between the state and citizens, ASAN Service is now not only an advanced national governance practice but also a unique Azerbaijani brand attracting international interest. The fact that this experience has been shared with more than 50 countries and successfully implemented in various states demonstrates that ASAN Service is an effective institutional model for organising public services.
ASAN Service’s activities, which are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, have also received high recognition from the United Nations. Its receipt of the UN Public Service Award in 2015 and the Special Award for Advancing Public Service Delivery through Digital Governance in 2019 demonstrate the international recognition of our achievements.
Cooperation with the UN creates new opportunities to promote this experience across a wider geographical area. The Contribution Agreement signed between Azerbaijan and the United Nations in 2024 envisages promoting the ASAN Service model across four continents.
Azerbaijan will continue to support the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to international efforts aimed at delivering high-quality public services.
I am confident that today’s event will help promote progressive ideas and new approaches, as well as advance concrete initiatives.
I wish the Summit every success and all participants fruitful discussions.”
