Trump cannot “divorce” Israel – How Tel Aviv has trapped Washington
Israel has ordered billions of dollars’ worth of US military equipment, on top of the commitments covered by American military aid.
TodayPress TV reports, citing The Wall Street Journal, that the newspaper has published details of the orders.
According to the report, as of April 1, Israel had placed orders with the United States for military equipment worth approximately $10 billion that had not yet been paid for. This amount is in addition to the military aid planned through 2028.
The information, based on a document submitted by the US State Department to Congress, states that payment for the existing orders would require either continued financial support from Washington or Israel covering the costs from its own budget.
This situation significantly complicates any US plan to halt military aid to Israel.
