Peskov sends message to EU: Abu Dhabi talks to be trilateral
Trilateral talks involving Russia, the United States and Ukraine will be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, in November.
According to TodayPress TV, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists on October 23 that the talks would focus on security issues.
Responding to a question about the European Union’s possible participation, Peskov said the meeting would take place in a trilateral format.
On October 21, US special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg. During the meeting, documents outlining proposals for resolving the conflict in Ukraine were presented.
Following the meeting, Putin said Russia was ready to resume trilateral talks with the United States and Ukraine in the final week of November.
According to Putin, the goal of the negotiations was not a temporary ceasefire but a final peace agreement that would ensure the security of both Russia and Ukraine after the deal was reached.
