Tensions rise ahead of US midterm elections as Trump accuses Iran
Iran is trying to drive up oil prices ahead of the US congressional elections scheduled for November, US President Donald Trump has claimed.
According to TodayPress TV, Trump made the statement on his Truth Social platform.
“Iran is doing everything it can to drive up oil prices ahead of the US midterm elections. They are even making up attacks that never happened, mines and other things, because more oil is currently being shipped through the Strait of Hormuz than before the conflict began,” the president said.
The US midterm elections are scheduled to take place on November 3.
