Trump’s cryptocurrency loses value within hours

The “$TRUMP” memecoin associated with US President Donald Trump has lost more than 10% of its value amid the results of the midterm elections held in the country.

It should be noted that the US midterm elections were held on november 3. Voters elected 35 of the 100 members of the Senate and all 435 members of the House of Representatives. Gubernatorial elections also took place in 36 states.

According to the latest assessments by US media, Democrats are securing majorities in both chambers of Congress. The new Congress will begin its work on january 3, 2027. Currently, Republicans hold the majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

It should be recalled that on january 18, Trump announced the launch of his own cryptocurrency, “$TRUMP”. Within the first 24 hours, the memecoin’s trading volume exceeded $11 billion.
