Vice President J.D. Vance took the stage as the keynote speaker on the second night of the Republican convention held in Dallas.

TodayPress TV reports, citing The Wall Street Journal, that Vance’s speech was not received as merely another conference address.

The publication notes that he held meetings with delegates from battleground states, led a high-dollar fundraising event with donors, and delivered a prime-time speech at the convention.

All of this presented him as a candidate preparing for the 2028 election.

In his speech on Thursday, Vance called Democrats extremists and explained how he wants to see the America in which his children will grow up.

The author emphasizes that, during moments when the hall fell silent, chants of “48!” could be heard.

It should be noted that Trump is the 47th president, meaning the next president will be the 48th. The chant was an open reference to Vance’s future ambitions.

Some Republicans still prefer Marco Rubio. However, the night in Dallas showed that Vance’s support is growing and that his position within the party is becoming stronger.

The speech was met with enthusiasm and will be remembered as an unofficial launch toward 2028.
