Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that strikes on Russian oil refineries have not affected global oil prices.

According to TodayPress TV, Zelensky made the remarks in an interview with Alla Mazur, a presenter on the TSN television channel, responding to criticism from US President Donald Trump.

According to the Ukrainian leader, attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure are a response to Moscow’s targeting of Ukraine’s energy system.

“They destroy your electricity supply, and that hurts you. But what hurts them? Oil, diesel, fuel. This is very painful for Putin. He launches heavy strikes against us, and we respond. This is a matter of justice,” Zelensky stressed.

The president said Kyiv was ready to stop striking Russian oil refineries if Russia halted its attacks on Ukraine’s electricity infrastructure. In his view, an energy ceasefire could be implemented on this basis.

Zelensky also revealed that he had proposed alternative options to the United States. According to him, Kyiv suggested providing access to the Starlink system in certain Russian territories to enable strikes against ballistic missile launchers, or supplying Ukraine with additional Patriot missiles.

However, the Ukrainian leader claimed that Kyiv had received no positive response to either proposal. Instead, the country had faced restrictions on the Starlink system and a relaxation of sanctions against Russia.
