Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is travelling to Moscow at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to TodayPress TV, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported this.

“We are setting off for this country at the invitation of the esteemed Russian President Vladimir Putin,” Pezeshkian said.

According to the report, before departing for Moscow to attend the eighth summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), the Iranian president said the two sides would seek to establish secure routes for global energy trade and ensure free trade during the visit.

Pezeshkian described US actions as a factor undermining the security of the free movement of energy around the world.

“We will hold very good discussions in Moscow. We will talk about US actions and the obstacles to the free transportation of energy. We will discuss how routes should be secured and how free trade can be ensured for the transportation of this energy around the world. This insecurity is detrimental to the entire world. If we can hold these discussions with each other at a strategic level, it could have a major impact on global energy management,” he said.
