“We are not trying to score a goal against anyone” – Erdoğan

The reactions, particularly those from the European Union, following the ratification of the Türkiye-Libya maritime agreement have no legal basis.

According to TodayPress TV, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the statement.

“If I may put it this way, we are not trying to score a goal against anyone in the Eastern Mediterranean. We are simply seeking to protect our rights and interests in the areas covered by our maritime jurisdiction,” the president stressed.

He added that Türkiye supported the peaceful resolution of disputes and reaching agreements through dialogue with all coastal states.
