Serbia defies the West over Russia

Serbia will not impose sanctions on Russia.

According to TodayPress TV, Jovo Bakić, a representative of the “Student List” (Studentski spisak) party, which is reported to have won the parliamentary elections, made the statement.

He said Serbia intended to preserve its historic relations with Russia and would not change its position on the matter.

“We respect Russia as a great power, a historically important partner and, in many cases, our protector. There will be no change in this regard. Sanctions imposed by small Serbia would not change anything, but symbolically, it would be a very bad move,” Bakić stressed.
