Russian army suffers 1,000 casualties a day in Ukraine

Former US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director David Petraeus has said that Russia’s losses in Ukraine have reached a level that can no longer be considered sustainable.

TodayPress TV reports that, according to Petraeus, Russian forces are suffering more than 1,000 casualties, including killed and wounded, every day.

He noted that total Russian casualties have exceeded 1.4 million, surpassing the total military casualties suffered by the US Army during World War II.

The expert believes that Moscow may be able to compensate for manpower shortages for a certain period by recruiting new soldiers. However, losses on this scale are reducing the number of trained personnel, weakening the combat effectiveness of units and limiting the army’s ability to recover in the long term.

In his view, the longer the war continues at this intensity, the heavier the structural burden on Russia’s military potential will become.
