Putin meets Vietnamese counterpart

Russian President Vladimir Putin and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of Vietnam To Lam are holding a meeting in Moscow.

TodayPress TV reports that, according to the Kremlin, the talks are being held in a restricted format in the Green Reception Room of the Grand Kremlin Palace.

During the meeting, the current state and future development of comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam are being discussed.

The sides are mainly discussing expanding cooperation in trade, the economy, science and education, humanitarian ties, as well as security and defence issues.

In addition, Putin and To Lam will exchange views on current international and regional issues.

It should be noted that in recent years, Russia and Vietnam have sought to expand cooperation in the energy, defence and economic sectors. Putin has previously described Vietnam as a long-term and reliable partner of Russia.
