Putin to visit India

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India on September 11–13.

TodayPress TV reports that Putin will participate in the 18th BRICS Summit, which will be held in New Delhi.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the main theme of the summit is “Sustainability, Innovation, Cooperation and Strengthening Stability.”

The BRICS Summit will be held in New Delhi on September 12–13. The group is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its establishment this year.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, whose country is a member of the organization, will not attend the summit. He cancelled his visit due to his campaign for the presidential elections to be held in Brazil in October.

Brazil will be represented at the summit by Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.
