Poland’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Krzysztof Szczerski, has requested an early end to his term, and his request has been approved.

TodayPress TV reports that the information was announced by Polish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maciej Wewiór.

“Ambassador Krzysztof Szczerski asked Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski to shorten his diplomatic mission at the United Nations. Minister Sikorski granted the request. Ambassador Szczerski will conclude his mission later this month,” Wewiór said.

Szczerski has not yet explained the reasons behind his decision on social media or in public statements.

It should be noted that on October 31, Poland’s ambassadors to China and Romania announced that they would refuse to continue serving in their posts, citing their disagreement with the government’s actions in the dispute surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal.
