US imposes new restrictions on China: Smartphones and computers also affected
China has objected to a US ban on testing electronic devices in Chinese laboratories.
TodayPress TV reports that China’s Ministry of Commerce has opposed the decision by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), calling on Washington to lift the restrictions and resolve differences through consultations.
The restrictions will take effect on December 1, 2028.The decision will apply to electronic devices intended for the US market, including smartphones, computers and network equipment.
Under the new rules, these products will have to be tested at accredited laboratories in the United States or in one of the 60 countries with which Washington has partnership arrangements.
İn a statement, China’s Ministry of Commerce said relocating testing to other countries would increase costs for companies, delay the launch of products on the market and ultimately have a negative impact on US consumers.
