Ebola detected in wife of Swiss diplomat

Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs has announced that a woman whose Ebola infection was confirmed in Nigeria is the wife of a Swiss diplomat.

According to TodayPress TV, the BBC reported the development.

The report states that the 42-year-old Ugandan woman, who lives in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, tested positive on October 20. She was diagnosed with the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus and is currently self-isolating.

The woman initially sought treatment at several medical facilities after malaria was suspected. However, testing for Ebola was not conducted until October 19, 13 days after her symptoms began.
