Will the US seize Iran’s oil? Trump weighs two drastic scenarios
The United States could end its war with Iran very quickly or take control of all Iranian oil, US President Donald Trump has said.
According to TodayPress TV, Trump made the remarks to journalists outside the White House.
“We could end the war with Iran very quickly. The question is whether we want to end it or allow the regime to collapse,” he stressed.
Trump also said the United States could take all of Iran’s oil but did not provide further details.
He stated that the US Navy had closed the Strait of Hormuz to Iran, while other countries continued transporting oil through the waterway. According to Trump, oil exports through the strait last week exceeded pre-war levels.
The US president claimed that Iran was facing a shortage of money and struggling with inflation. At the same time, Trump said Washington was achieving all its objectives and was considering the possibility of further weakening Iran without immediately ending the conflict.
“In fact, last week we exported more oil than ever before, even more than before the war.”
