Armenia is interested in starting practical work under the TRIPP project as soon as possible and ensuring its full implementation.

TodayPress TV reports that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan made the remarks on November 5 during discussions on the 2027 draft state budget at a joint meeting of the parliament’s standing committees.

The minister noted that the project envisages the construction of railways, power lines and fibre-optic cables. The construction of gas and oil pipelines, as well as other infrastructure facilities, could also be considered in the future.

According to Mirzoyan, the project’s implementation will enable Armenia to establish railway connections in several directions. The country’s north and south will be linked via Nakhchivan, railway trade with Azerbaijan will resume, and access to markets in third countries will be expanded.

He stressed that Azerbaijan could also benefit from the project. The route would connect the country’s mainland with Nakhchivan while also creating opportunities for transport links with Armenia and third countries.

Mirzoyan added that the opening of communication links and the commissioning of infrastructure would create broad economic opportunities across the region.
