Champions hit back at Antonelli: “It’s a happy problem!”
Two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso and four-time world champion Max Verstappen have commented on reigning champion Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s dissatisfaction with his media obligations following a title victory.
TodayPress TV reports that the drivers shared their views during a press conference ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Verstappen: “I think I was still hungover the next day, so… I was just going with the flow. Winning your first world championship is always a very special feeling. Of course, you have media commitments the following day, and that’s not the best thing in the world. But you always dream of winning the title, and that’s what matters most. If that means spending an extra day with the media… so be it. It doesn’t matter.”
Alonso: “It’s a happy problem. Twenty years ago, we didn’t have as much content or such a team behind us as we do today. All I had to do was attend a press conference, visit the factory and thank the entire team.”
