Georgia extradites two suspects to Azerbaijan
Two more individuals accused of committing crimes have been extradited to Azerbaijan.
TodayPress TV reports that this was announced by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the statement, the Georgian Ministry of Justice granted requests submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizens Tahir Ayralov and Miryusif Gadirov, in accordance with the 22 January 1993 Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters and the European Convention on Extradition of 13 December 1957.
Investigators found reasonable grounds to suspect that Tahir Ayralov had repeatedly committed theft as part of a group acting in prior agreement, by unlawfully entering a residential property, as well as a building, warehouse or other storage facility. The criminal case is being investigated by the Aghstafa District Police Department.
Miryusif Gadirov is suspected of concealing an especially serious crime without prior agreement, in a criminal case being handled by the Baku Court of Appeal.
Decisions were issued to formally charge both individuals, and they were placed on the wanted list after fleeing and going into hiding to evade the investigation.
Both men were detained in Georgia and brought to Azerbaijan by the relevant authorities of the Georgian Ministry of Justice.
