Moldova is planning to introduce a visa regime for citizens of Russia and Belarus.

TodayPress TV reports that this was announced by the country’s Prime Minister, Vasile Tofan.

According to the prime minister, Moldova is not yet ready to announce a specific date for the move.

He stressed that there is no doubt the country will align its national visa policy with European Union rules.

As a result of this change, visa-free travel will automatically be abolished for citizens of several countries, including Russia and Belarus.
