Trump faces major political battle as Democrats prepare to attack on all fronts

Democrats are preparing for a sweeping legal battle against US President Donald Trump over executive privilege and confidentiality rights after taking control of Congress.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Politico, that Trump is invoking broad claims of executive privilege to shield internal White House communications, including discussions with outside advisers, from congressional investigations.

Democrats plan to investigate Trump’s pardon decisions, his family businesses, possible prosecutions targeting political opponents, and the handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Politico writes that disputes between the two sides could eventually reach the US Supreme Court. The process could establish long-term legal precedents concerning presidential confidentiality powers and Congress’s oversight authority.
