The US administration remains committed to resolving the conflict with Iran and preventing further escalation of tensions in the region even after the midterm elections.

TodayPress TV reports that Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani made the remarks.

“What happened in the elections may affect their policies in the future, but it does not affect their intentions. Their intention and willingness to take steps to seek a solution remain unchanged even after the elections”,- he stressed.

According to the head of the Qatari government, Doha and Washington have been working together over the past few weeks to prevent an escalation of tensions in the Middle East. He added that the negotiation process is currently “not as active as it was a few days ago”, but contacts are continuing.
