Security alert over threats against European media: Buildings evacuated, authorities on high alert

British broadcaster “Sky News” has said it received information about a security threat against it, along with several other media outlets.

TodayPress TV  reports that the statement by telecommunications corporation “Comcast” was read out by a presenter on the channel’s broadcast.

“We have assessed the threat and notified the relevant authorities of the situation. The safety of our employees is our top priority, and we are working closely with the authorities to ensure their security and the uninterrupted operation of the company”,-the statement said.

It should be recalled that earlier, employees were evacuated from the offices of several Irish media outlets in Dublin due to a bomb threat. Those affected included broadcaster “RTÉ”, “the Irish Independent” newspaper, and radio stations “Newstalk”, “Today FM”, “Spin 1038” and “98FM”.

“Sky News” has not reported that its own employees were evacuated.
