Landslide in China: One dead, 11 missing
A major landslide has occurred in Jiangxi Province in southeastern China.
TodayPress TV reports, citing Xinhua, that at least one person has died and 11 others are missing as a result of the natural disaster.
The landslide occurred in the Jian urban district. Eight residential buildings were completely destroyed, while four others sustained serious damage.
Rescue teams have been deployed to the scene. Two people have been rescued alive from the rubble. The search for those missing is currently underway.
The region had previously experienced heavy and continuous rainfall under the influence of Typhoon Saudel. The torrential rains are believed to have triggered the landslide.
