Russian president thanks Melania Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, to convey his gratitude to US First Lady Melania Trump for her humanitarian efforts.

TodayPress TV reports that Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced this.

“Vladimir Putin asked that his gratitude be conveyed to Melania Trump, particularly for her efforts to reunite children with their families, as well as for her mediation in resolving the acute situation in the city of Oleshky, Kherson region,” Ushakov said.

Putin and Witkoff met in St Petersburg. During the public part of their talks, the Russian leader expressed interest in restoring economic cooperation with the United States and asked about the outcome of the negotiations held in Norway.
