Drone attack on Saudi Aramco facility leaves two dead
Saudi Arabia’s air defence forces have intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that attempted to attack a facility belonging to national oil company Saudi Aramco in the eastern part of the country.
According to TodayPress TV, the kingdom’s Ministry of Energy reported the incident.
The ministry said the interception of the drone sparked a fire in a vehicle belonging to a contractor outside the facility’s premises.
Two people, nationals of the Philippines and Nepal, were killed in the incident. Two others, citizens of Pakistan and India, were injured.
The ministry stressed that the incident had not affected the oil facility’s production processes or operations.
