Netanyahu: “Mojtaba has decided to follow in his father’s footsteps”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is seeking to follow in his father’s footsteps and that Tehran has resumed efforts to develop nuclear weapons.
TodayPress TV reports that Netanyahu made the remarks in a statement.
He said the only way to permanently eliminate the threat posed by Iran was to overthrow the country’s regime. The prime minister stressed that he had issued the relevant instructions to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Mossad and security services to pursue this objective.
Netanyahu described the current situation as an existential threat to Israel. He said the country’s future was at stake and that Israel would emerge victorious from the struggle.
The prime minister also noted that US President Donald Trump had said they were prepared to resolve the issue of Iran once and for all. Netanyahu said Washington intended to take this step together with Israel.
Concluding his remarks, Netanyahu identified the overthrow of the Iranian regime, the permanent elimination of what he called the “axis of evil,” and ensuring Israel’s security and peace in the region as the main objectives.
