Belgium promises new drones to Ukraine
Belgium plans to deliver 10 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026.
TodayPress TV reports that Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever made the statement to the Belga news agency after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the European Union summit in Brussels.
“Ukraine needs combat-ready fighter jets, and we can contribute in this regard. We will deliver 10 aircraft this year,” De Wever said.
The prime minister noted that the delivery schedule had been revised due to delays in the supply of US-made F-35 aircraft to Belgium. These jets are intended to replace the F-16s currently in service with the Belgian armed forces.
