Shock decision for football star: Mbappe ordered to pay PSG

The Paris Court of Appeal has ruled that Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe must pay €60,000 to his former club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

TodayPress TV reports, citing L’Équipe, that the amount was determined as compensation for financial losses suffered by the French club due to the freezing of its bank accounts in 2025. However, the court rejected PSG’s claims for moral and reputational damages.

It should be recalled that after joining Real Madrid in August 2024, the French star filed a €60 million claim against PSG over unpaid bonuses and outstanding wages. Amid the legal proceedings, the footballer’s lawyers obtained a temporary freeze on the club’s bank accounts. Although the measure was lifted in May 2025, in December, the Labour Court ruled that PSG should pay Mbappe approximately €61 million.

It should be noted that Kylian Mbappe, who has played for Real Madrid since 2024, has scored eight goals and provided two assists in seven appearances across all competitions in the 2026/27 season.
