Zelensky: Russia tried to strike my plane twice

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russia attempted to target his presidential aircraft with drones twice in recent weeks.

TodayPress TV reports that Zelensky made the remarks in an interview with CBS News.

According to him, during the first incident, the presidential aircraft was in Moldova, and Russia attacked Moldova precisely for this reason:

“My presidential aircraft was in Moldova, and that is why they attacked Moldova. On the way home — again over Chisinau — they did the same thing.”

Zelensky also addressed the incident involving the bombing of a train near the Polish border. Asked whether Russia knew that US and European officials were on the train, he did not rule out the possibility.

“Maybe they didn’t know that there were some Americans there, maybe they did. Because I don’t trust them. I think they knew. That is precisely why they attacked when there were Europeans, Americans and a large delegation on the train,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader also said that the ceasefire on energy facilities is currently not in effect. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin “does not respect, see or understand” how negotiations are conducted.

“That is why we respond. We never launch the first attack,” Zelensky added.
