Erling Haaland, the striker for Manchester City and the Norway national team, has contributed to an increase in carrot consumption in his country during the World Cup.

TodayPress TV reports, citing L’Équipe, that the development has been linked to Haaland’s eating habits.

Known for his commitment to a healthy lifestyle, Haaland frequently shares habits such as meditation and a strict sleep schedule on social media. His diet consists of plentiful but balanced meals rich in protein and vegetables. Carrots have a special place in the striker’s diet — he eats them raw as a sweet alternative or snack to avoid excessive sugar intake.

According to Norway’s Ministry of Agriculture, this summer has been “an excellent season for Norwegian carrots.” Producers, meanwhile, directly attribute the sharp increase in sales to the “Haaland effect.”
