Batrakov sets remarkable European record: Four goals and a place in history!
Galatasaray’s 21-year-old Russian midfielder Alexey Batrakov has made Champions League history after scoring twice against Stuttgart in the fourth round of the 2026/27 league phase.
TodayPress TV reports that the Istanbul side defeated the German club 2-0, with both goals scored by Batrakov. He found the net in the 12th and 15th minutes to secure the victory for his team.
Batrakov became only the second Russian footballer to score a brace for a foreign club in the history of the Champions League.
The first to achieve this feat was Roman Pavlyuchenko, who scored twice for Tottenham in 2010.
Batrakov has also made history by becoming the first Russian player since Artem Dzyuba in the 2015/16 season to score four goals in a single Champions League campaign.
Moreover, he is the first Russian player competing outside Russia to achieve this milestone. In the previous eight instances, all players who reached this mark represented Russian clubs, including Spartak Moscow, CSKA Moscow and Zenit.
It should be noted that Batrakov joined Galatasaray from Lokomotiv Moscow during the summer transfer window. He has scored five goals and provided three assists in 12 appearances across all competitions for the Istanbul club.
