Lithuania’s EU Council presidency discussed in context of Azerbaijan-EU relations
On September 3, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told TodayPress TV.
During the phone conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-Lithuania bilateral relations were discussed. The sides noted the importance of continuing political dialogue and further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The importance of developing partnership within multilateral platforms was also emphasized during the phone conversation. Kęstutis Budrys provided information on Lithuania’s preparations for its presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027. In the context of Azerbaijan-European Union relations, the sides exchanged views on efforts in several areas during Lithuania’s upcoming presidency.
The ministers also discussed regional security issues, the current situation in the South Caucasus, and efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region, as well as other international issues of mutual interest.
