Manchester City sets transfer spending record
English Premier League runners-up Manchester City have set a record for the amount spent on transfers during a single transfer window.
TodayPress TV reports, citing Transfermarkt, that Manchester City spent €526.20 million during the summer transfer window, surpassing the record previously set by Liverpool, who spent €483 million in 2025.
During the summer transfer window, midfielders Enzo Fernandez (€145 million), Elliot Anderson (€135 million) and Ayoub Bouaddi (€95 million), wingers Iliman Ndiaye (€70 million), Allan (€37.5 million), Matisse Deturbe (€25 million) and Jeremy Monga (€11.7 million), as well as goalkeepers Gerónimo Rulli (€3.5 million) and Pierce Charles (€3.5 million), joined the Manchester club.
Enzo Fernandez’s transfer is not only the most expensive signing in the club’s history but also ranks among the five most expensive transfers in football history.
