Threats and insults! Badr Hari back in police custody
Legendary Dutch heavyweight kickboxer Badr Hari has been arrested again by Amsterdam police in the Buitenveldert district on suspicion of making threats and insults.
TodayPress TV reports that the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf published the information.
Amsterdam police representatives confirmed that a 41-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of threatening behavior and insulting someone, but did not disclose his identity due to privacy reasons. However, the athlete’s lawyer Cem Polat and De Telegraaf, citing their sources, confirmed that the person detained was Hari.
Law enforcement officials did not say when the suspect’s identity would be officially confirmed or when formal charges would be brought.
It should be noted that in autumn 2025, the Dutch Public Prosecution Service reached a plea agreement with Hari and his former wife, Daphne Romani, in a domestic violence case. He was held in pre-trial detention for three days over attacks carried out against him in September 2024 and February 2025, and was sentenced to 24 hours of community service, a fine and a restraining order.
