Israel was reportedly preparing to strike Iran, but Trump withheld approval
In early October, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly ordered the country’s air force to prepare for large-scale strikes against Iran.
TodayPress TV reports, citing the Financial Times.
According to the publication, the strikes were scheduled for October 10, and the military was ready to launch the operation.
“However, US President Donald Trump opposed Israel’s proposal. Trump conveyed to the Israeli side that Washington would not take any steps that could escalate tensions ahead of the US midterm elections to be held on November 3.
“Netanyahu subsequently instructed the Israeli Air Force to cancel preparations for the strikes,” the report said.
