Europe is rearming, and World War III may be inevitable – Vučić

Former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has said that Europe’s accelerating rearmament is fuelling concerns about a possible global war.

TodayPress TV reports that Vučić described the prospect of World War III not breaking out as a miracle, stressing that the possibility of such a conflict seriously worries him.

Drawing attention to European countries’ efforts to expand their military capabilities, Vučić singled out Germany’s progress in the sector. According to him, Germany’s profits in this field have increased 17-fold.

“If you cannot see how Europe is arming itself, then you are choosing to ignore it. But why is it arming itself? For what purpose? It is like a play by Chekhov: if a gun is hanging on the wall in the first act, it will be fired in the third,” Vučić said.

He added that he hoped to be wrong and that his prediction would not come true, but made no secret of his concerns about the current situation.
