Houthis have “tested Trump’s patience”: “I will never forget this”
US President Donald Trump has accused Yemen’s Houthi movement of carrying out attacks on Saudi Arabia and deliberately seeking to drive up oil prices.
Trump made the remarks in a statement, saying that the Houthis had suspended their activities for a period following US strikes but had now become active again, TodayPress TV reports.
According to Trump, the Houthis are probably acting on Iran’s instructions. He described Iran as a country weakened militarily and economically and claimed that inflation in the country stood at 301%.
The US president also suggested that the Houthis were attempting to push up oil prices and that their actions could be linked to elections in the United States.
“They are behaving extremely badly. Someone needs to explain to them that I am not running in these elections because I have already won by a large margin. However, after the elections, I will return to this issue, and I will never forget it,” Trump said.
