The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy reportedly carried out six attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman within a 24-hour period.

TodayPress TV reports that, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the six maritime attacks recorded in a single day represent the highest number documented by the organisation over such a period.

The incidents have heightened concerns about the safety of commercial shipping in waters of major importance to international trade. In particular, rising security risks in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the main routes for global oil shipments, could affect energy markets and international trade.

Continued disruptions to maritime transport could lead to higher shipping costs, deepen uncertainty in energy markets and prompt increased calls for stronger international maritime security measures.
