Belarus is preparing for war, Lukashenko says
“I have stated sincerely and honestly that we are preparing for war in order to prevent war.”
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement, TodayPress TV reports.
According to him, his country has no intention of attacking anyone but is preparing for war to prevent it.
“Contrary to the campaign launched in the media by our ‘friends’ in the West, who claim that Russia will attack the Baltic states and even Poland from Belarusian territory and together with Belarus, we are not preparing to attack anyone,” Lukashenko said.
He added that these “partners” have recently been paying particular attention in the media to developments within the Belarusian Armed Forces.
“What mainly concerns them is that we are conducting inspections of Armed Forces units — not just the army, but the entire Armed Forces — extremely frequently, as well as on a very comprehensive and intensive scale,” Lukashenko said.
